Random Poem of the Day – XIV

The Ride

by Michael Ball

Power and grace,
beauty and speed.
All are one
in a thundering steed.

Joined in movement,
flying like the wind.
We ride the mountain trails,
“til we’ve chased day’s end.

Riding wild horses
beneath Montana skies.
The beauty of the sunset
reflected in your eyes.

Our journey over, the campfire glowing,
a small beacon under the star sprinkled sky.
We gaze in wonder at the glory of the night,
You, the horses and I.
